The Flight Attendant / Cabin Crew Adventure Begins...
SIA has posted in their website open interviews for flight attendants / cabin crew this 4 Nov 2006! Hmmm... I'm sure there'll be lots of young people who would be interested and keen to go and try their luck. Perhaps this may be their lucky break and they'll be shortlisted for the selection process!
Here are some tips on how you can prepare yourself to ensure you stand a higher chance of being called for the selection interviews.
You wanna make sure that your resume and the cover letter you send to the HR office is not the standard resume which template is plucked out of a typical resume. This can be done by personalising the layout and the way you craft the different sections, especially describing yourself. You must take the opportunity to sell your unique-ness as an applicant, your strengths, your experiences in providing services, your character traits describing your humility and perseverance, and how this will help you to do a much better job than the next applicant. However, gotta be careful not to oversell, nor write things that are not true!
If you have the ability to speak in languages other than English and Mandarin, you should also give special mention as to what these additional languages are, as well as how proficient you are in the language. Also, how you've made use of this language in areas other than in school, will help to increase your chances as well.
If you have been working as a service staff, you would also want to include a mention in your resume your experience, and especially of how you've contributed towards the company's image in your role as a service staff. Better still if you received awards or commendations for your great service.
